What could be more appealing if you are looking for a luxury 4 x 4? So how does this AMG powered Mercedes ML63 sound? The ML63 comes fully loaded with electric front seats, full leather, climate control, and DVD player with rear screens built into the headrests keeping the kids entertained. 

The most impressive thing is it’s been finished by AMG, which means it has their suspension and the monstrous 6.2 litre V8 engine, which, as you probably know, are assembled with great care and precision by hand by a single individual engineer, whose name is then signed on the plaque and attached to the engine cover. You can’t really get a more personal touch than this.

The seller of this 2007 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG is a dealer who specialises in modern classics and luxury vehicles. He has taken the AMG in part exchange from an existing customer. Having a soft spot for the ML63 AMG, he has also been using the vehicle daily, and it is reported to be running as it should and is a great pleasure to drive. A little strange at first being in an SUV with sports car performance.

The inside of the Mercedes ML63 AMG has been finished in trim code 504A, which is Exclusive Leather in Brown. Although the electric memory seats are working as they should, there is some age-related wear on the leather shows light creasing and some slight colour loss to the lower bolster, particularly on the driver’s side. The wear would be described as in keeping with the age and mileage of the ML. However, the rear seats have had less use and are in good condition. 

The Steering wheel in the ML63 does have some light wear and would benefit from a clean around the controls, and all the buttons are reported to be working correctly. The instruments light up and work as they should with no warning lights displayed when the engine is running. The odometer on the vehicle shows a reading of 94,287 miles, just nicely run in for the 6.2 litre V8. Moving across the dashboard, the primary display takes care of all your navigation and media needs, the climate controls are working as they should, and there is no excessive wear to the buttons or dials. 

The carpets are in good order with no real wear. Being a light colour means they have gone a little dirty and would benefit from a full valet to bring them back to their best. The headlining is in good order with no sagging. The jack is in place in the boot area, together with the spare wheel and wheel brace. The pull out roller shelf is in good condition and extends and retracts as it should.

Finished in the subtle Tanzanite Blue Metallic (359U), the Mercedes ML63 AMG is in good condition. A paint correction detail could reduce some age-related swirl marks and stone chips. Starting at the front of the ML, the headlights are in good order, with no cracks in the lenses, and the same can be said for the corner lights. The chrome work is bright and has no tarnishing to mention. The only thing missing is the towing eye cover, which should be an item you can order from your local Mercedes dealer quite easily. 

Around to the sides of the ML63, it all looks nice and straight, with no dings or dents to point out. The doors look to align as they should, and these all open and close easily. The sill steps are in good condition with no scuffs. There is the odd age related scratch and chip but in keeping with the age and mileage. The windows are free from any excessive scratches, and the seals look to be in good order. The rear half has factory tint, which is all in good condition. 

At the rear, the four tailpipes show the AMG logo, and they sound fantastic. The bumper does have a scuff on the offside lower corner, just below the parking sensor. The chrome handle and badges have a bright finish and with no signs of tarnishing. 

The AMG wheels have been refurbished and are in excellent condition, with no scuffs to be seen. The tyres have some wear but have a good amount of tread remaining.

Fitted with the 6.2 litre V8 M156 engine, the ML63 is undoubtedly a powerful machine that offers a fantastic driving experience. The car starts up as it should with no untoward noises coming from the engine bay. The seller reports the gear change to be seamless through the 7-speed transmission, and again, with no unwanted noises from the drivetrain.

The suspension, tuned by AMG to handle the extra power, is comfortable, or you could opt for the sport setting suited more for spirited driving. The brake discs are drilled on each corner and look to be in good order with very little lip to be seen, and AMG calipers are reported to bring the car to a halt in a straight line. 

A fantastic opportunity to step into probably one of the most powerful SUVs produced by Mercedes-Benz and AMG. Being the model that it is, the car comes with a very nice spec sheet, DVD player, rear headrest screens, full leather and 20” AMG wheels, to name a few. It is undoubtedly a great chance to own a luxury 4 x 4 with sports car performance.
