BMWs restructuring of its models back in 2014 birthed a new name, a new series and with it a new ‘M’ car. The 4 Series was introduced and at the top, the fierce and fanatical M4. As is the way with M cars, outstanding performance and striking aesthetics intertwine sensationally. Power, poise and lavish luxury are taken to new heights with the aim of showcasing the Bavarian brand's abilities. With performance being at the forefront of the design, a purpose-built S55 twin-turbocharged, three-litre inline-six was installed, bringing with it 431hp and 550nm torque. Paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-Speed M-DCT Automatic, the car reaches 62mph in just over 4 seconds. Advanced technology such as BMW's Active M differential and suspension are also equipped meaning allowing for a dynamic, agile driving experience plus configurable comfort settings.

This first-generation 2014 M4 Cabriolet is presented excellently, with a well-documented maintenance portfolio. It features a superb colour scheme, Black Sapphire metallic and Black Merino Leather plus a seductive interior, including carbon-fibre trim and Harmon-Kardon Sound-system.

Lavish, sporty luxury awaits the driver on this M4. Superbly specified, with the Black Merino leather seats and carbon fibre trim partnering perfectly. It's a mature, intelligent environment, with subtle M car hints such as red and blue stitching on the steering wheel and M4 digital emblem on the instrument cluster. The ergonomics are very driver-focused, with all the switches, buttons and gauges conveniently accessible to the driver, a concept influenced by motor racing, where control over the vehicle is priority. The condition of the interior is excellent, with only the smallest signs of wear visible. The Sports seats are supportive and hugging, a splendour to sit in, the leather is great, with only small creases visible, as are
the rear seats which look very much unused. There are some small blemishes located on the rear speakers and lower trim, but not entirely noticeable.

Aggressive contours meet elegant styling, beautifully combining to produce a sensational-looking car. Top-up or down, the M4 is a gorgeous sight, especially in the Black-Sapphire metallic, which looks polished and rich. The appearance of the M4 while impactful isn’t radical, it's mature, and tasteful while still being athletic in nature, helped by styling additions such as the rear diffuser, bonnet power dome and side M Gills. The overall condition of the exterior is very good, with some small blemishes present.

There's a small car park ding to the passenger side, a couple of small scratches to the rear spoiler, plus a small scuff to the rear bumper. In addition, there is a small chip in the windscreen that has been repaired but is noticeable. The 19’’ M Double Spoke alloy wheels sit in front of blue callipers and large M compound disc brakes and suit the car well, they would however benefit from a refurbishment. The added cabriolet element brings an enjoyable dynamic, allowing those bellowing notes from the rear quad to fill the space around you. The hard roof folds away quickly, seamlessly at a push of a button, with no clunky mechanisms or embarrassing noises, efficient and sharpish ideal for when the heavens open
