Although we never got the 560SL in Europe, that hasn’t stopped us admiring it from afar. That lusty 5.6 V8 is the biggest engine ever fitted to a R107 and, along with the smooth styling and superb build quality, made it not only a fantastic grand tourer but also a discreet muscle car.
Here we have a US import finished in smart blue-green metallic paintwork – a colour we think really suits the car’s fine lines. Complete with both its fabric hood and the removable hardtop, it would make for a superb year-round classic.
