THE APPEAL
The BMW ‘E39’ 5-Series was, for most of the late 1990s and early 2000s, considered the best mid-sized executive car in the world. Terrific to drive, beautifully made and timelessly elegant, it’s a car that is rapidly transitioning to classic status, and with very good reason. Put simply, it’s a brilliant car.
And they don’t come much better than this example, a truly gorgeous, low mileage 540i Touring, with stacks of history and presented in fantastic condition. You’ll have to go a long way to find an E39 better than this one, or with such a great specification.
Plus, it’s wonderfully practical. With a huge load area, split tailgate and acres of interior space, it’s the perfect utility or family classic – a car you can treasure and show, but also use and enjoy, with incredible performance and opulent luxury. It’s wonderfully well-equipped, great to look at and absolutely astonishing to drive, with effortless power and super-smooth cruising ability. It’s lived it’s live in an underground car park which has added to this well preserved classic being handed down from one family member to another.
