The Appeal
The Fiat 500 was enormously successful thanks to its diminutive size and similarly diminutive price tag. Up to four million units are believed to have been sold, and today the 500 name lives on in a similarly popular hatchback.
This 1971 example has an interesting history, having been originally purchased by a lady in Arezzo who used it for city driving until 1998. The car then passed to her son, who undertook a restoration, including a colour change from the original electric blue to yellow, while maintaining much of the vehicle's originality.
After some years of use followed by a period of storage, this characterful 500L has been recently recommissioned and is now ready to be enjoyed once again.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
