The E12 represents the birth of BMW’s 5-Series range, and this rare 1977 528 with 68k miles is a stunning example.
Having just undergone a major refresh to bring it up to standard, the car is now aesthetically and mechanically in superb condition.
The Rubenrot metallic paint is simply beautiful and the bodywork, brightwork and trim are all excellent. The 14” steel wheels with their original chrome centre caps are also excellent, and have just been fitted with 4 brand new tyres.
The standard of the interior is the same, with the contrasting seats, carpets, wood, door panels and headcloth all in wonderful condition. The dashboard is crack-free and the original radio and glovebox flashlight are present.
The 2. 8 M30 straight-six engine and manual gearbox are smooth and refined and, as part of the extensive recent works, the car received a carb rebuild, new fuel pump, new brake lines, discs, pads and callipers, plus a full engine service including all filters.
This is a rare and beautiful E12 in wonderful condition that represents a more elegant alternative to the ever-popular E28.
