The Elan was years ahead of the opposition and another masterpiece design by Colin Chapman, even today it is hard to find a better-driving lightweight sports car.
This is a genuine home-market SE Convertible model that was first registered in 1970 and finished new in Yellow.
With only 3 owners she was laid up for some 20 years and then carefully recommissioned over the past 2 years at great cost.
Work included strip down to gel coat and high-quality re-paint (before pictures available ), t rim and hood, engine out and inspected plus resealed, new suspension and brakes, tyres, driveline doughnuts replaced, complete clutch and hydraulics, stainless steel exhaust, 123 ignition, etc.
All work documented and upgrades included to endure improved reliability
Many motoring enthusiasts claim that the Elan is their favourite driving machine and any serious driver will agree once you sample the fluidity of the chassis the lightness of the controls and the evocative sound of the race-bred twin cam.
These are very special machines and have never been replicated with any modern design proving that Colin Chapman was a design genius way ahead of his time.
