1940s-’50s-style Wayne Type-70 Polly Gas Gasolene Pump

The petrol pump

Apart from the old Sinclair Oil Co. with its diplodocus logo, this is one of the best oil company liveries ever seen. Polly Gas, a now defunct company, was a chain of independent service stations operating on the west coast of the USA from the 1920s until the 1950s. Their parrot logo is rarely seen amidst the sea of Shell and Esso pumps, making this 1940s-1950s style pump a truly interesting piece.
Complete with fill gun, globe and electric cable ready to plug in to light the whole thing, this pump would make a fantastic addition to your garage, perhaps placed next to a large Cadillac or Harley-Davidson collection.

Condition

The Polly Gas livery has been recreated to a high standard, and the colours really bring out the best in this piece. The paint finishes are very bright, as are the chrome trim and polished parts such as the filler gun. The fragile globe looks undamaged, and the pump body panels show no noticeable dents or signs of corrosion. Behind the glass, the fuel flow meter is set to zero, as if it had just been used in 1952!
We understand that the lights work as intended when plugged into a two-pin European socket. The part features a hand-engraved reproduction Wayne serial number plate.
