The Appeal
Developed specifically to aid the French economy after World War II, the Peugeot Utility Bike became a common sight in French towns and cities, often taken on board by farms and small enterprises that needed a straightforward, inexpensive solution for transit. Today, they're a rather fine pop of mid-century design - spartan and characterful, with an outsized basket that could cart around anything from carrots to pigeons.
This particular 1953 trike has been in the UK since 2009 with just one former registered keeper, and comes to us in highly original order and with a recent respray in its original beige. We expect it'll garner plenty of interest at auction, and will make a fabulous base for cosmetic restoration.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
