The Appeal

For enthusiasts of MG’s BMC C-Series GT, opportunities like this really do not come along often. These are rare cars, and this one has just been released from an extensive, sympathetic restoration where virtually every aspect of the car has been replaced or renewed.

The BMIHT certificate guided the work and retains the all-important provenance of matching numbers. Finished in the rare and rather gorgeous Riviera Silver Blue metallic with blue leather piped in pale blue, this is one arrestingly attractive car. This paintwork was unique to the MGC GT.

The restoration is fresh so the car presents in extremely good condition. All areas of the car were assessed and refurbished or renewed during the work, including the front and rear screens. The engine and gearbox were also overhauled. Where possible, original features were left untouched, such as the factory undersealing. The aluminium bonnet remains too. The quality of work is evident from the flush shut lines and high-quality retrim.

We are told that the displayed mileage of 30,486 is belived to be correct and verified by MOT records. The car has had just three keepers in its life, the last for 40 years. It is a mark of the seller’s approach that the car comes with a useful voluntary MOT to July 2026 with no advisories.

“Virtually everything has been restored. Even both screens are new with new chrome inserts professionally fitted to perfection. Pictures show how lovely this car is with original factory underseal from new.
