The Appeal
The MGB Roadster remains one of the most cherished British sports cars of its era, offering open-top motoring with a willing 1,798cc four-cylinder engine, wire-spoke wheels, and timeless lines. This particular example comes with a story that money simply cannot buy. The vendor's late husband owned the car from at least 1978, and in 1981 the couple drove it all the way to Rome to get married. The car was later sold, passing to a keeper who held it for 32 years according to HPI records, before the vendor and her husband spotted it for sale in 2022, now wearing red paint, and brought it home once more. They promptly had it resprayed back to its original pale yellow, reuniting the car with its proper identity.
Since its return, the MGB has been stored with great care in a dehumidified workshop, parked on carpeted flooring, and kept under dust sheets. The vendor states that her late husband, who passed away earlier this year, kept all of his vehicles to a high standard both mechanically and cosmetically. Finished in pale yellow over a black vinyl interior, with chrome trim, wire-spoke wheels, and a black soft-top, this is an honest, genuine MGB Roadster with a provenance that sets it apart.
