Highlights
- Highly presented Snowberry White Traveller
- Only three keepers from new
- Garage-stored for an estimated 40–50 years we are told
- 12,194 miles from new, believed correct by the vendor
- Few miles since voluntary MOT in 2023 with no advisories
The Appeal
The Traveller brought some transatlantic ‘woodie’ style to the suburban streets of Britain. Where those American station wagons used wood largely decoratively, the Morris’ timber was structural, all of it carefully hand-built in Coventry before being married with the bodies in Abingdon. Despite the laborious build process, these cars were hugely popular in period, not because of their style but their rugged reliability and practicality.
Today we value these cars more for their style than their versatility. There are plenty for enthusiasts to choose from, but we suspect few quite as good as this beautiful Snowberry White car. It presents at a very high level and we’re led to believe that it is very original. The usual check areas like the wood, sills and underside all look good. Even the tool kit appears to be brand new. The vendor states that it was stored for between 40 and 50 years and that the displayed mileage of 12,194 miles is correct. We can’t warrant that, but the condition seems to support it.
The current keeper is only the car’s third. He has used it sparingly, preferring to polish and primp it rather than accumulate more miles. Nevertheless, we’re told it runs and drives very well. For Moggy Traveller fans seeking the best, here it is.
The vendor says:
“100% on the button, ready to use, faultless. A car ready to jump in and be used, the condition you’d expect from a car with 12,000 miles, probably cleaner than a car with those miles as it’s cleaned and polished more than it’s used.”
