The Appeal
The joy of a Beetle is that it is both classic car and, with some subtle modifications, a convincing daily driver too. This pretty Savannah Beige ‘71 1300 fulfills both roles equally well.
It was restored by the previous keeper and bought by the seller in 2023. Recent work has included useful modifications that improve reliability such as an alternator conversion, new starter motor, new belt, replacement battery and a full service. The timing had been adjusted and the engine tuned. It has been modified to run correctly on unleaded.
The vendor is only selling because he works abroad and has little time to use it. Since buying it he has fitted a wooden steering wheel, headlamp covers and a rear blind, all neat details that nudge its pretty aesthetics up another notch.
