The Appeal
To this day, Steyr Puch is recognised as for the foremost off-road vehicle expert in the world. Steyr engineers were behind the Mercedes-Benz G Wagon, the Fiat Panda 4x4, and, more recently, the Ineos Grenadier. Steyr has also been awarded multiple military contracts, and among its most notable military vehicles is the Pinzgauer. Designed to tow heavy artillery and carry a large number of personnel on board, these go-anywhere vehicles have proved invaluable in some of the most challenging terrain imaginable.
It's rare to discover a Pinzgauer with civilian registration, making this 1973 example an unusual find indeed. As the photographs attest, this Pinzgauer is in remarkable condition considering its age and the sort of abuse these vehicles usually endure. Since civilian registration in 2004, it has clearly been very well cared for. We understand it to be in very good running and driving order, ready to meet its next custodian.
