The Appeal

Japanese car makers have long excelled at observing what Europe and the United States are up to and building something much better. The Honda Civic is one such success story. Jumping on the “hot hatchback” bandwagon from the advent of its second generation in 1979, the Civic soon became a worthy advisory for the very best the likes of Volkswagen and Peugeot had to offer.
It’s well-known among the Japanese car community that the best specifications were often reserved for the home market, and the same is true of the third generation Civic. That means JDM Civics are especially sought after and it’s increasingly hard to find unmodified, original examples.
Here we have a lovely JDM Gen 3 1600 E-AT Civic from 1986. Boasting the rare DOHC ZC engine, this is widely considered the one to have, and it’s bristling with desirable period features. The vendor assures us that it’s mechanically unmodified and benefits from full service history from its two former registered keepers. A great deal of work has been carried out during recent years, ensuring that this car presents beautifully and is ready to enjoy.
