Here at Car & Classic, we adore a vehicle with a great backstory, and this highly original, ultra-low mileage Porsche 944 comes with unrivalled provenance. Acquired brand-new in 1986 by the vendor's mother, now in her mid-80s, this Porsche has been garaged from new and used very sparingly. It has only covered 28,103 miles.
Increasingly sought after, the front-engined Porsches are rightly no longer regarded as the 911's poor relation. These were great cars in their own right, and the 944 was arguably the best of the bunch, sitting neatly between the entry-level Volkswagen-engined 924 and the range-topping 928 grand tourer.
The vendor tells us:
"The car was bought new from AFN in Isleworth and has had only one careful lady owner (my mum). It was first registered in August 1986 in her name and remains in her name. I have the authority to sell it for her. She is now in her mid-80s and no longer drives it. The car has only covered only 28,103 odd miles in its life and has spent virtually all of that in a garage or dry storage. She has kept multiple MOT certificates proving its mileage.
The car is, therefore, totally original with no signs of rust and no dents, scratches or other marks of any note on the bodywork. The interior is extremely clean and well-kept. The car comes with its original Panasonic radio/cassette with the original manual (and with a Tina Turner Greatest Hits cassette to add to its appeal). The only addition to the original car is a Porsche immobiliser. It has two sets of keys and the original sunroof cover."

The vendor adds:
"There are some early Porsche stamps in the service book, but they are not complete as the car was serviced by a garage in Hertfordshire for a good part of its life, and the invoices/receipts were not retained. More recently, the car has been looked after by Cridfords (Porsche specialist) in Surrey. There were major services in 2020 (including all belts and tensioners replaced) and 2024. Cridfords described the car as being in “very good condition”."
