The Appeal
It is proof of just how popular and how good the Bullet was that it remained in production for 70 years. From the early 90s the bikes were built in India and this is one of those, but the 500 variant is the one to have being the rarest.
Contemporary reviewers of those Indian Enfields praised the bike’s enduring appeal, in particular the style, the sonorous thumping single cylinder engine and its classic riding experience. All reasons to want this one.
It is a very low mileage example - just 16,667 miles from new - that has been in the UK since first registration in 1991. The subsequent seven keepers have clearly cherished it, not merely keeping the miles down but regularly servicing and maintaining it. The current keeper has featured it as a display item, but one that he has usefully started regularly.
It arrives on the market, then, in great and very original condition. It is a visual treat, the black paintwork, gold coachlines and chrome trim looking bright and much less than their 34 years.
The bike is said to start and run well although may require a new battery. That’s an easy fix for a great-looking and rare Bullet.

- Neat details abound such as chromed Enfield logo and black leather saddle
- Chromework, trim and other fittings such as grips all in good, original condition
- Wire wheels and tyres in good order although tyres may be aged
- Smart and original Pricol dial and fuel gauge in lightly aged condition
- We have no reported of electrical, lighting or switchgear malfunctions
