The Appeal
Back in the day it was all about modifying your Golf GTI. Today, things are rather different. Buyers want standard, unmodified examples, ideally with low mileage, desirable specification and great history.
Cue this car, which is all of those things are more. Its previous keepers have kept the mileage low and the maintenance standards high meaning that it arrives with us in great condition. That has been helped considerably by a £12,000 sympathetic restoration by well known VW specialist Restoshack in 2024 that has tidied up this highly original car very nicely indeed.
The work builds on what is already a very appealing factory-standard car. Finished in schwartz black with ‘rainbow’ interior, electric windows, sunroof and, of course, ‘big bumper’ specification, it is the one you want with the zingy 16V engine.
A thick history file dating right back to the cars very beginning and long, advisory-free MOT to September add to the considerable appeal of this rare, unmodified Mk2.
