The XK8 successfully took the place of the KJS and its design harked back to the glory days of the E-Type. With its swooping bonnet, large open-mouthed front end and raised chamfered tail, the design cues of the great E-type were quite obvious. Except this car was to be far more civilised than the 60s icon.
