The Appeal

The P38 Range Rovers are beginning to become more and more appreciated. And with a number of special editions produced over the model’s life, there are certainly plenty of high-specification examples to choose from.

This handsome ‘50th Anniversary’ model is one such special edition and comes with lots of kit and a high level of finish. Originally a JDM vehicle, it was imported to the UK in 2015 and has been very well cared for and little used ever since.

Cream leather upholstery with black contrast piping appears to be in very good condition, with minimal signs of wear for the age, other than a little light creasing to the front seats
Beige carpets through the cabin and boot, black OEM rubber floor mats and black plastic boot liner – all show well with no evidence of notable damage or wear
Headlining presents well, with no signs of sagging, staining or damage
Wood veneer trim to the dashboard and door caps, with some minor blemishes and signs of light fading to the centre console trim

The paintwork and bodywork look in good order, with some minor blemishes, but nothing that would concern us

Iconic split rear tailgate looks to be in fine fettle
Integrated front fog lights and headlamp washers
All of the exterior trim and badging looks to be present and correct
Original five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels show in fine fettle, with no notable signs of kerbing or lacquer peel we could see

The Mechanics

The engine bay looks clean and tidy, with no evidence of leaks apparent
Four-speed automatic transmission
Adjustable air suspension with multiple settings
The vendor tells us the car has just had a major service, including fresh gearbox, differential and transfer case oil
We’re assured that the car drives perfectly, with no mechanical issues the vendor is aware of

Summary

The P38 Range Rover has a loyal fanbase and is certainly a handsome, practical and luxurious machine. Presented here in very fine order, with a good specification and low indicated mileage, we think it would make a most agreeable daily driver.
