Five variants of the Griffith were manufactured, this Griffith 500 was part of the 2600 cars produced until 2002. The V8 engine was mated to the Borg Warber T5 manual gearbox, giving the driver a rear wheel drive powerhouse with characterful and rewarding performance producing 0-60 in just 4.1 seconds.

Owned by a classic car enthusiast this has formed part of his collection of Bentleys and Porsches, the car has been kept under cover since ownership in February 2021 and has indoor and outdoor car covers which come with the TVR. The car comes with extensive paperwork including MOTs to substantiate the mileage, all receipts since 2003 are present as well. In recent years the work carried out has come to just over £4500 and this is documented and provided with the sale of the car.

The full black leather interior is in good condition throughout, it also wraps around the dashboard and stitching is intact. The modern JVC head unit is connected to a Pioneer 6 disc changer which is housed in the large boot area. All switch gears are fully operational as are the electric windows and door mirrors. 

All carpets show minimum wear, the one area of note is the carpet trim by the drivers door edge which has come away slightly. On the inside edge of the door is a small scuff that is visible when the door is opened, shown in the picture gallery. 

The black paintwork is in good condition for the age of the car, it would benefit from a machine polish, there are some marks under the near side front fog light. The front bumper does have some stone chips which are expected due to the age of the vehicle. 

All wheels are clean and are wrapped in Toys tyres, all with good tread. The black fabric roof moves up and down freely and the rear window is crease free and clean. On top of the roof are two small marks, all edges of the roof are clean and show how well looked after the car has been over the years.

The car is also fitted with a fully working immobiliser system. 

The vehicle has recently had just over £4500 spent on it, this included removal of the rear brake callipers and to fit reconditioned ones along with new rear brake pads. 

Some surface rust is present on the chassis and outriggers, but reported to be in good condition with no immediate work required.

Also new anti-roll bars with drop links have been part of the work carried out by respected dealership, Motorway Sports Cars in Kent. This work was carried out in December 2021 and totalled just over £1600. An MOT was carried out which expires in December 2022.

A true British sports car icon, the styling, 5 litre V8 soundtrack and a slick 6 speed gearbox make this rear wheel drive an epic machine for true petrol heads.  With only a limited amount produced by TVR and with low mileage these cars are an  appreciating asset and will put a smile on the new owners face, plus that sonorous V8 roar will never tire.
