The Appeal
The Alfa Romeo 147 GTA is a truly powerful hot hatch from Alfa. When the GTA letters adorn one of their models you are usually in for an exhilarating experience. GTA stands for Gran Turismo Alleggerita, in other words a lightened GT.
The 147 GTA offers some impressive performance figures such as 0-62mph in 6.3 seconds with a top speed of 153mph, numbers that even by today's standards are very impressive for a hot hatch.
Braking and handling are also improved over the standard 147, with larger brake discs, 4 pot Brembo callipers all around and a suspension combination of high double wishbones at the front with a MacPherson strut arrangement at the rear. Alfa clearly understood the importance of the driving experience with the 147 GTA!

This 147 GTA was thoughtfully configured from new by the original owner, boasting tan and black full leather seats, sunroof and a Bose sound system. The interior overall is in good to very good condition. The leather seats have been looked after with the only noticeable signs of wear around the driver’s seat bolster, though these are only scuff marks and the leather is free of any rips or tears.
We are told that all interior features work as should with the only area possibly requiring attention being the sun roof switch, it works as should but using an aftermarket switch, not the original switch or fixture. The headlining is in very good condition and the carpets are also Alfa Romeo branded and in good condition. The boot is in good condition too and included in the boot and sale is an all-weather car cover from Auto Covers.

Clad in Verde Boreale, an elegant colour which really accentuates the beautiful styling, this example gives for a graceful presence. The current owner has taken very good care which can be seen in the recent service history. The original alloys have been refurbished in 2016 ensuring there are no scuffs present. The alloys are complemented by red brake callipers all around which are in very good condition.
The paintwork has minimal chips and blemishes that you may expect with the age and mileage. The front headlamps do have some light fogging on the lenses, again in expectance with the age and mileage which would easily be polished out if so desired. The sunroof operates smoothly and in both pop up or fully retracted positions. All brightwork is in good condition with a special mention for the front grille and exhaust muffler tips.

This 147 GTA possesses arguably one of Alfa Romeo's best engines. A truly beautiful all aluminium V6, not only to drive but also to hear and see. The current owner has ensured it has received regular and attentive servicing carried out with Alfa specialists. The current owner has also kept the intake runners polished which certainly catches the eye when opening the bonnet.
The owner informs that the tyres have driven less than 1000 miles since fitting and thus have plenty of tread remaining. The engine bay is clean and tidy and we have been told the vehicle accelerates and brakes very well with the V6 giving a lovely deep soundtrack, absent of any bangs, knocking or smoke. Also included in the boot is a spare wheel and an Alfa Romeo branded tyre pump.
The engine warning light is illuminated with an accompanying 'Motor control system failure' warning message, the current owner explains this is from a recent ECU issue. The ECU has since been repaired with a lifetime warranty included. However, the warning message is yet to be cleared with a diagnostics computer.
