Built as an update for the 550, the 575M featured numerous enhancements over the previous car. More power, updated styling and more advanced features were all present and correct, and it was famously the first V12 Ferrari to offer the option of a paddleshift transmission.
What we have here is a beautifully maintained example of one of the rarest modern Ferraris ever built – a 575M with traditional ‘H gate’ manual transmission. Add to that a sublime colour scheme and some choice factory-fit options, and this becomes a highly collectible, very desirable machine.

With the door cards, optional Daytona seats and dash all swathed in deep blue leather, the cabin of this 575M is a beautifully appointed and special place. The leather itself is presented in fine condition, with an expected level of patination commensurate with the age and mileage of the vehicle. Other than a couple of minor scuffs to the lower door cards, it all appears to have worn very well indeed.
Complementing the leather, the carpets that run through the cabin are a deep blue, with matched overmats. They all appear to be in very good order, with no damage or staining we could see.
One of the issues that Ferraris of this vintage suffer from is “sticky buttons”, caused when the rubber coating on them degrades with age. Thankfully, this car does not have this issue as the offending switches were replaced by Ferrari, so all of the switchgear and driving controls present in excellent condition. The dials are clear and all of the buttons are smart and legible. We’re assured by the vendor that all of the car’s features function precisely as they should, with no issues whatsoever.
As well as the luggage shelf behind the seats, there is a good sized boot. It’s lined with carpet which presents nicely, with no damage or staining. Included is the original Ferrari toolkit in its tan leather folder, alongside the original Ferrari inflation kit in its case.
Finished in gorgeous light silver-blue ‘Grigio Alloy’ paintwork, the proportions and lines of this curvaceous grand tourer are displayed to fine effect. All of the bodywork looks to be in good order, with no notable dents, no damage and no corrosion that we could identify. The panels look well-gapped and even.
Looking at the paint, it wears its almost 20 years very well. It maintains a fine lustre and is nicely reflective. Of course, there are some minor blemishes and stone chips, including some light chipping at the leading edge of the driver’s door, but nothing out of the ordinary for a Ferrari of this vintage.
Alongside paintwork, all of the trim and badging is complete and looks to be in fine fettle. Nothing was missing or damaged that we could see, and other than some very minor blemishes, it presents in excellent condition.
The wheels are the original 5-spoke 18” alloys. They look to be in very good order and are shod with factory-correct Pirelli P-Zero tyres. We’re told by the owner that these were fitted just 1,500 miles ago and so have lots of life in them.hzoGWS0a0vSoecden7gIqTcIkvvlbaDFX6nneG1n.jpeg455.76 KB

Naturally, the first thing that strikes you about any V12 Ferrari is the engine. With a thunderous 5.7-litre naturally-aspirated V12, this 575M certainly has the muscle to accompany its styling. Delivering 508bhp and 588Nm to the rear wheels, there’s more than enough power to give the driver a 5-second 0-60 run and a potential 200mph top speed.
Lifting the bonnet reveals the vast powerplant in all its glory. It looks to be in excellent order, with no evidence we could discern of leaks or damage.
But perhaps the most thrilling aspect of this car is the fact that it’s a super-rare manual. That classic polished shifter and open ‘H gate’ make this a very special car indeed.
Add to that the fact that this 575M was optioned with the Fiorano handling package, which transforms the car’s handling, and this truly is an enthusiast’s car. The handling package comprises of lower and stiffer springs, thicker anti-roll bar, uprated brakes and some adjustments to the wheel geometry.
The owner reports that the car ”drives beautifully” and “has a lovely gear change”. With an excellent service history and a fresh service to be carried out before ownership is transferred, we think buyers can have every confidence in the mechanical quality of this lovely machine.
V12 Ferraris are always special. Manual V12s are even more special, particularly in the world of modern Ferraris, where so many now feature paddle shift transmissions. But nothing beats the interaction and satisfaction of a proper 3-pedal setup.
