The Appeal
Any E-Class is going to be a treat, such is the firm’s reputation for executive excellence. But this car particularly so.
It was with the previous keeper, a doctor, to 81,000 miles in 2022, and subsequently sparingly used by the current one. It sports a particularly elevated specification that includes a rare panoramic glass roof. The condition is typical of such a low owner, well kept car.
The E240 is - confusingly - equipped with Mercedes-Benz’ 180bhp M112 2,597cc V6 petrol engine, a unit that delivers a decent blend of performance and economy and is usefully UELZ compliant. The mechanicals have been carefully maintained throughout the car’s life, primarily by factory main dealers.
Always garaged stored and presented in very good order, this must be one of the best remaining examples of Stuttgart’s well-regarded W111.

The car has always been serviced at Mercedes Benz main dealer bar the last two services. The last two being at a MB Specialist on 15th August 2019 at a cost of just over £450. The latest service was done at the same MB Specialist on 20th July 2021 at 74,184. More recent work has included further servicing in October 2022 plus maintenance to the gearbox, engine mounts and brake pipes.
The car is said to drive very well and is said not to want or need anything.
The Condition

Trimmed in well kept Charcoal leather, it’s obvious from the overall condition that this is a genuine car. It’s in terrific order, with a cabin that still looks inviting and fresh today.
The extensive electricals are in good working order including the dual-zone climate control and electric sun blinds covering the panoramic roof. The front section of the roof opens and was subject to repairs in 2022. It has been unused since and its condition and operation cannot be verified.
There is a set of original Mercedes-Benz over mats and fold-down rear seats – a useful option.
Other desirable extras include a self-dimming rear-view mirror, CD changer, Mercedes-Benz COMAND sat nav and infotainment and the original black Mercedes-Benz over-mats.
The W211 is finished in smart Brilliant Silver, one of the best colours for a Benz of the period, and is in very good overall order with no major blemishes to the paintwork or panels. The vendor advises that some minor stone chips have been professionally resprayed. It’s very smart and presentable with no obvious issues.
The paint still retains a deep and glossy shine and there no major issues, just a few light kerbing marks on the alloy wheels to detract from an otherwise fabulous external appearance.

Under the bonnet you’ll find Mercedes-Benz’s proven and popular 2.6-litre V6, found in all manner of models from the C-Class through to the SLK sports car.
It’s a lively, smooth and responsive unit developing 180bhp, which in this example works in tandem with a five-speed auto transmission.
The car has been very well maintained through its life by its duo of keepers. The evidence is shown in the photographs and includes recent maintenance of the engine and gearbox plus engine mounts and brake pipes. The current MOT runs to December 2024 with no advisories.
