The Appeal
The R230-generation Mercedes-Benz SL350 is an increasingly appealing entry point into open-top grand touring. Powered by the robust M112 V6, it offers a more usable and efficient alternative to the V8-powered SL500, without the complexity of the ABC active suspension system found on higher-spec models. With its folding vario roof and optional panoramic glass sunroof, it remains a versatile and elegant cruiser for both motorway miles and country roads.
This example wears the rare Jasper Blue Metallic finish and has been lightly used for at least the last eight to nine years. The vendor purchased the car in May 2023 and has continued a regime of careful stewardship, servicing annually at a Mercedes-Benz specialist, storing the car in a garage overnight, and declaring it off road each winter with the roof seals maintained using specialist protector oil. The service books contain over 12 stamps dating back to 2004, with two further stamps added since 2024, and a binder of previous maintenance records and MOT history accompanies the car. The last five MOTs have all been passed without advisories.
Mechanically, the car has benefited from an engine carbon clean, rebuilt front and rear brakes, replaced rocker cover gaskets, and checked coil packs. The alloy wheels have been refurbished, the headlights buffed to remove hazing, and the bodywork is reported to be in good condition and free from any significant corrosion, with no evidence of corrosion on the doors, bonnet, wings or wheel arches. Supplied with the original wallet and booklets, this SL350 presents a well-documented and carefully looked-after modern classic.image.png1.66 MB
