When BMW took the Mini name under their wing, the grand plan was simple - take the Issigonis masterpiece's formula, and update it for the 21st century. The resulting car was an immediate smash hit - a sharp-handling, perky, and surprisingly versatile car that might have lost some of its predecessor's vintage milieu - but had lost none of its personality.
Introduced at the 2004 Salon International de l'Auto, the Convertible model would hit the 2005 model year with a fully automatic soft top, and a tailgate more reminiscent of the original Mini. It was an unusual addition to the Mini catalogue - but quickly became a huge hit.
This particular Mini Convertible has only 14,850 miles on the clock, having been owned by the same family from new. It has been maintained by a local garage almost all its life, and always kept in dry storage.
