The Appeal

The History and Paperwork

• This Portfolio X350 was built at the end of 2005
• This makes it one of the early cars built at Jaguar’s Castle Bromwich factory
• Just 300 were made – 150 for the USA and 100 for the UK and 50 for the rest of the world. It was the ultimate Jaguar saloon, and, in many ways, still is.
• The Super V8 was then supplied new via the Jaguar dealer network in Japan
• It was thought to have been first registered in Japan at the start of 2006
• Our example was lightly used and well cared for in Japan until 2020
• At that point the car was imported to the UK by the current owner
• Spent 3 years kept in storage until first registration in the UK
• On import the car was fully updated to UK specifications
• This includes MPH speedometer, full-sized number plate plinths, satellite navigation etc
• Paperwork includes the current V5 in the name of the current owner
• The Super V8 holds an advisory free MOT valid until November 2023
• Other paperwork includes various import documentation 
• DVLA and HMRC paperwork confirming duties and VAT paid are present
• Mileage will go up slightly as its in light use

The Interior

• The Super V8’s interior is the absolute definition of luxury and comfort
• Generous use of American walnut veneer accents further enhances the cabin
• To complement the Conker wood trim , the Portfolio’s dash, centre console and door trims were finished in hand-stitched Bridge of Weir leather, chosen by Jaguar’s Scottish design director, Ian Callum, as a somewhat personal touch.
• Headlining and other trim is finished in complementary coloured Alcantara fabric (slight sagging to the very rear)
• Front seats are pristine and are 12-way electrically adjustable
• They are also heated in three stages and feature a three-setting memory function
• The memory function also acts on the pedal and steering wheel adjustment
• The rear cabin is a real highlight with this LWB model optimised for rear passengers
• American walnut faced, fold out picnic tables are present
• Twin TV screens are recessed into the back of the front headrests
• A fully featured entertainment control console is located in the centre armrest
• A rear climate control console is situated between the front seats
• The three-stage heated rear seat controls are also housed here
• The rear seats are also electrically adjustable complete with memory settings
• Privacy is ensured when required with rear window blinds all round
• Needless to say, the rear cabin condition appears faultless
• Further interior refinements include electric sliding sunroof, sat nav and radar cruise control
• Double glazed acoustic glass is fitted all round
• Portfolio etched chrome sill protectors are fitted
• An Alpine, 13 speaker, 400-watt audio system is fitted complete with Dolby Pro-Logic
• The large boot is finished in deep grey carpet
• A DVD player, satellite navigation DVD unit and CD changer are fitted here
• The leather of the interior has been recently treated with hide food

The Exterior

• Our example is presented in gleaming Black Cherry Mica Pearl paintwork
• Its condition appears excellent, and a deep shine and ample metallic flake is noted
• The front end is fitted with Xenon headlights and the signature mesh grill
• A chromed Jaguar leaper is also present here
• The functioning aluminium wing vents are topped with an embossed leaper
• Chromed trims are fitted to bumper covers and window surrounds
• Oversized chrome tail pipes unique to the Portfolio
• The 20 inch wheels Callisto are highly polished and forged in manufacture to make for a stronger wheel.
• These are in a great, unmarked condition throughout 
• These are fitted with a matching set of quality Yokohama tyres
• Our car seems to have benefitted from a life on the salt free roads of Japan
• The condition appears excellent overall and truly belies the car’s age
• This is helped by the ceramic sealant finish the car has recently enjoyed

The Mechanics

• This car is fitted with the 4.2L supercharged version of the acclaimed AJ-V8 engine 
• Designated as the AJ33S, this engine is supercharged and intercooled
• This unit was originally rated at 400 bhp and 408 Ib-ft of torque
• Power is fed to the rear wheels via a six-speed ZF automatic gearbox
• This specification gives this big car a truly astounding turn of speed
• Limited to 155mph and with a 0-60 time of around 5 seconds could be considered “ample”
• Our car has covered a low original mileage and has been well cared for 
• The under-bonnet condition is really good and helps reinforce this cared for history
• The car has recently undergone a full mechanical check and holds an advisory free MOT, too
• As such, no known issues have been reported by the owner
• Runs and drives to perfection
