The Appeal
The Quattroporte could only be a Maserati. Through several evolutions, the firm’s big saloon has stuck to the same principles of understated Italian style, cossetting luxury and very quick engines.
The fifth generation introduced a new style and a wider choice of models. Of these, the Sport GT was a £6,000 option that notably offered firmer, more sporting suspension and a much-improved automatic gearbox. Other alterations included 20in alloys and carbon fibre interior trim.
