The Appeal

This is a fully loaded executive SUV. Acquired new as a company car, it was retained by the owner after the contract term and has been well maintained throughout its life; its condition both inside and out is a testament to that. At the last full oil service replacement discs, calipers and pads were fitted, together with new washer pump filters. Since then, subsequent owners have only covered very limited mileage. It has a fresh MOT and both front airbags will be replaced by BMW on recall before sale.

This 4x4 is versatile, a pleasure to drive and has all the refinements expected of such a vehicle, with air-conditioning, satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors and wall-to-wall black leather. Outside the car hits the mark too, with upgraded alloy wheels, Angel Eye running lights, roof rails, running boards and a very useful split tailgate.

The bodywork is unmarked, as is the refined interior leather and trim. With the robust 3.0 Litre diesel up front, it has plenty of get up and go, together with BMW’s xDrive 4x4 system, remarkably frugal fuel consumption and a huge load area. It has pretty much all the available upgrades and creature comforts, including heated and electrically adjustable seats and an extra pair of forward-facing rear seats that lift up from the boot floor, making it a true 7-seater.

There are few X5s in this condition with such limited mileage and good service history. It’s a lot of car for not much money, has real roadside presence and, with BMW’s legendary reliability, has years of luxury motoring ahead of it.
