The Appeal
The Jeep Wrangler was first launched in 1986 but could trace its rugged utilitarian roots directly back to the legendary Jeep of World War II, as produced by Willys, Ford and Bantam. The Wrangler modernised the concept considerably, of course, without ever losing the essence of the original that made it so revered.
The third-generation Wrangler, the JK, arrived in 2006 under the ownership of Daimler Chrysler. The JK was notable for being the first Wrangler designed from scratch and gave the company a chance to significantly move the model on as well as introduce numerous innovations and even nods to luxury. The Unlimited version added a whopping 20 inches to the wheelbase endowing it with ample room for a growing family and all their associated paraphernalia.
