The Appeal
Two years after the Longbridge closed and the MG brand disappeared from showrooms, enthusiasts were in for a treat: the firm’s new owner announced that it would start building the excellent MG TF once again. It was the start of the MG brand’s fightback.
Just 906 were built, of which only 350 were TF135 cars like this one. Its Heritage Certificate confirms its provenance. It is beautifully finished in correct Raven Black with black alloys and a matching leather and fabric interior. Thanks to having covered just 30,398 miles from new it is in quite resplendent condition.
The current keeper acquired the car in 2016. You can immediately tell from the photos of the car’s badges and club register sticker that this is an enthusiast’s car. That it has always been dry stored and never used in the wet will likely be no surprise.
These final TFs were the last MG sports cars before the arrival of the new Cyberster, a car that clearly echoes its forebears. In this condition, with such low mileage and a current advisory-free MOT, it is a gem for enthusiasts.
