The Appeal

BMW’s X5 got it so right. Seamlessly blending the firm’s saloon car agility with upright SUV practicality, it was a proper sport utility vehicle. The second generation E70 didn’t mess with the formula, merely modernising the technology and introducing new engine options.

The 50i M Sport offers performance not far short of the fire-breathing M model - there’s over 400bhp on tap - from its 4.4L V8, yet it looks like a regular X5. This one is finished in the popular combination of Alpinweiss, a classic BMW colour, with black leather cabin. It sports a very high specification that includes panoramic glass roof, memory seats and piano black cabin veneers.

With just four keepers in its life, it has been well maintained and fairly sparingly used - the mileage is below average for the year. There is a run of 15 service stamps by main dealers and specialists, most recently in January 2025 at 112,329 miles. It is now on 112,411 miles.
