The Appeal
The sDrive35iS transformed the smooth, standard E89 Z4 into something altogether more potent. A Boxster S killer in fact. With 330bhp on tap in standard form from its tweaked N54 3litre and 60mph arriving from standstill in a eyeball-swivelling 4.5secs, the stats were on its side.
This car goes one step further - the vendor tells us that it is running at 380bhp. The 35iS’ party trick is that it looks much like a standard E89 Z4. And that’s a good thing, because even 15 years on from its launch it still looks sharp. Particularly in the smart Melbourne Red of this car.
The impression is assisted by the vanishingly low mileage - under 10,000 miles from new - which means it remains in very good condition inside and out. The Canberra Beige leather cabin looks barely sat in.
Key to any Z4’s appeal is the specification. This one was factory supplied with electric and heated memory seats, navigation, dark wood veneers and auto mirrors.
