The Appeal
Besides the ever-popular SL convertible, Mercedes-Benz also developed a svelte coupé based on the R107 platform. In comparison, the ‘SLC’ is quite rare, especially in the UK, with most customers opting for its open-topped sibling.
Here we have a commendably original C107 SLC from 1980, powered by Mercedes’ 4,520 cc M117 V8. It’s in very good condition for its age, with a light patina to the Light Ivory paint and Palomino upholstery. The vendor informs us that the car benefits from copious expenditure with the SL Shop and other specialists, ensuring that it runs and drives very well indeed.
