The Appeal
The Volkswagen Transporter has long been the go-to platform for campervan conversions, prized for its robust mechanicals, practical dimensions and the sheer breadth of aftermarket support available. Finding one that has been well converted and mechanically refreshed is high on the wish list for would-be weekend adventurers and full-time 'vanlifers' alike.
This 2015 example was comprehensively converted into a fully equipped campervan during early 2023. The living space features bespoke U-shape furniture with leather cushions that convert into a full-size bed, a sink and single-burner gas hob, a 50-litre fridge freezer, an Autoterm diesel heater with smart control, and a leisure battery system with Victron Smart Charger. Three additional windows, full insulation, soundproofing and graphite grey curtains complete the interior, while a Stitches & Steel tarp awning and Retro Racks ¾ roof rack are fitted externally.
Mechanically, the van has benefited from significant recent expenditure covering the drivetrain, braking system, suspension and routine servicing. SoLow NSL coilovers were fitted in May 2024, and an Autowatch Ghost Immobiliser provides additional security. The vendor informs us that it drives well, with a smooth gearbox and professional four-wheel alignment. With an MOT valid to June 2026, this is a well-sorted Transporter camper that warrants serious consideration.
The vendor summarises:
"Well-loved camper that has had everything done as and when it’s needed to ensure it can be enjoyed for many thousands of miles to come. Drives lovely! Gearbox is smooth, professionally 4 wheel aligned, and cruise control makes motorway driving a breeze. Pulling up to a campsite, folding the full-width bed down, putting on the kettle or grabbing a cold beer out of the fridge, and pinning in the awning is easy and stress-free. Setting up, settling in, and starting your holiday has never been easier. Ready to drive away and start camping the same day."
