The appeal

The Packard Eight Club Sedan is a fine example of the big American automotive luxury of the late 1940s. Renowned for its smooth, quiet inline straight-eight and for its build quality, it remains one of the iconic models of the era. Today, Packards from the 23rd Series continue to draw collectors, drawn to the elegance and refinement of this golden age of American motoring.

This 1949 example has benefited from a major mechanical and cosmetic restoration carried out in 2020. Imported directly from the United States in July 2025, the car would retain its 288 ci (4.7-litre) straight-eight engine with matching numbers, as well as many original components, including the dashboard, instruments, chrome trim and the manufacturer’s plate.

Now registered in France on a French ‘collection’ registration certificate, this Packard shows only a few minor cosmetic imperfections, including small dents and a slight puncture located inside the left rear wheel-arch, which does not affect the outer appearance of the wing.
