It's undeniable that the Japanese make quite the off-roader. The Shogun name was penned after the commanders of Feudal Japan, and it certainly carried a similar level of grit and determination. Built as a go-anywhere, do-anything car, these hefty 4x4s carried bulletproof powerplants and impressive suspension systems that perfectly fit the brief while still providing plenty of creature comforts.
This 1998 long-wheelbase model is the desirable top-of-the-line GLS specification, powered by the robust 2.8-litre diesel engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It's a particularly notable example for its remarkable originality and careful ownership history, having been with just two registered keepers since new, with the previous owner cherishing it for 23 years.
