It's hard to argue that the G87 M2 is amongst the purest distillation of BMW's M division ethos: a compact, rear-wheel-drive coupé powered by the S58 twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six, which had proven equally confident and exciting in the M3 and M4.
