1949 AUSTIN K2 Dropside 6cylinder petrol LORRY

Acquired at auction in August 2020, the lorry was subsequently subjected to a meticulous nut-and-bolt restoration. The vendor's objective was clear: to restore the K2 to a standard befitting one of the best and most accurate examples available. It is reported that no expense was spared during the restoration, which involved several leading specialists and expert craftsmen where required, including Rotherham Engines Ltd, Genius of the Lamp (Birmingham), Custom Classic Retro Trim (Loughborough), and LH Bodyworks, among others. The result is a testament to the time, effort, and investment involved. The Austin is now presented to a superb standard and benefits from an unleaded petrol conversion and the addition of a reversing light. The vendor reports that "it runs and drives as well as it looks."
