Ask anyone to draw the shape of a British classic sports car and chances are the lines will replicate the 100/4 ‘Big Healey.’ It’s a car that is so good-looking that many are merely preserved as showpieces. This car is a little different. With its purposeful de-bumpered Black aesthetics and gentle patina, it’s BN2 designed to be used and enjoyed. 

The BN2 is a wise choice for fans of the early cars because it got the upgrade to 4spds plus overdrive, adding extra long-legged, high-speed cruisability. We’re told this 1956 BN2 began life in Texas before being imported to the UK in 1993 and converted to RHD. Since its arrival, it has had just two keepers, the current one since 2002. He tells us that it has always been dry stored in a garage between uses.

The colour scheme and lack of bumpers make it a very appealing car. Inside, there is a well-preserved grey leather cabin with original features, including the sprung three-spoke wheel. The condition is usable and presentable, but with some age to the paint. We think it adds some extra character, but of course, there is scope to take it to the next level. The original windscreen surround has been refurbished but is not currently fitted to the car.
