The Appeal
Before and after the war, the Fordson E83W was a popular sight in Britain’s towns and cities, often ferrying all manner of goods and services for an army of small businesses and shopkeepers.
The previous keeper restored this lovely ‘53 E83W 10CWT van, a long-established heating and plumbing business, to celebrate its centenary in 2005. Finished in smart dark green with black wings and wheels, it features hand-applied gold leaf lettering and is a really evocative little van. It was even used by one of the firm’s engineers to visit customers.
The vendor tells us that he acquired it around 10 years ago. It has been used sparingly but maintained well. It is said to run and drive without issue.
Any classic commercial is an appealing prospect. With its interesting provenance and eye-catching finish, this one is especially compelling.
