When it comes to simplicity and rugged, go-anywhere character, the Land Rover is king - but it's the second series that often takes the crown in particular. This was a lightly refined iteration of the Landie, still true to its Jeep-inspired image yet just that little bit better in every way.
Needless to say, many were picked up by the military. The vendor reports that this example is no exception, having previously seen service with the Ministry of Defence - note the military generator equipment and the rear crossmember. Needless to say, we're expecting plenty of interest in this fine machine.
With just five former registered keepers and having been garaged during the current ownership period of five years, this Series 2 appears in smart condition for its age. Recent attention has been lavished upon it, too, including a rear differential replacement, an oil change and a newly replaced hood.
Engine bay in fair order, with age-commensurate patina
Recent oil change completed
Recent rear differential replacement undertaken
We're told that the car starts 'first time, every time'
We've no reports of any mechanical issues
