The attraction
The 1600 Junior succeeded the 1300 Junior and, with fewer than 5,000 produced, is one of the rarest versions of the famous Spider series. It was also a particularly pleasing displacement at high revs for Alfa's famous twin-cam 'Nord' engine.
All good reasons to take an interest in this very handsome early Series 2 Junior, first registered in France at the end of 1972. It is dressed in a classic red, following a complete repaint carried out in 2021. The current owner acquired it in 2022 from a former garage owner, who looked after it for ten years, carrying out all the maintenance himself. The previous owner kept it for 40 years since it left the factory.
The car received a complete mechanical overhaul in 2006 and has covered very few kilometres since then. It is a very nice example, with only a few minor cosmetic defects visible on the photos. It is sold with a roadworthiness certificate valid until June 2026, which is a guarantee of peace of mind.
The seller states:
"This is not a show car, but it has been used as a weekend leisure vehicle for the majority of its life. It's a real pleasure to drive, especially on country roads where its handling is very rewarding. We did a round trip to Biarritz via the Bordeaux wine region (750 km) last year, with the top down. It attracts compliments wherever you go. It would be an excellent basis for a competition car.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are registered as written off as part of a total loss at the time the advert is placed on Car & Classic and provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the status of the vehicle and it is always worth carrying out a full vehicle history check before making an offer on it.
