The Appeal

While the Porsche 944 upset the odd purist, there's no doubt it was one of the most accessible avenues into becoming a member of the Stuttgart Alumni, and quickly became of the company's best-ever sellers. The slant-four under the bonnet was adapted from their V8 powerplant, and proved remarkably charismatic for its size, while the car's styling felt smart, timeless and sophisticated.

These days, even the most ardent purists are beginning to reassess the 944. Porsche made this a remarkably tight-handling, capable car, that gripped the road like a vice and offered brisk performance at its best. To this day, it's an incredibly capable sports car that's well worthy of attention.

This eminently drivable car is ready and waiting for its new owner, highly original with plenty of work having been recently completed. It's no trailer queen - nor should it be. The 944 is a car built to really be enjoyed, and this one has clearly been cherished with every mile it's undertaken. With a minimal amount of work, the car could be brought up to real show-winning standards.
