The Appeal
Svelte classic GT cars don’t get much better than Jaguar’s XJ-S. V12 power and the equally smooth running gear from the XJ saloon kept this most distinctive of cars in production for 21 years.
The late 1980s were a high point in the car’s development, the more fuel efficient HE V12 engine being introduced alongside better quality and more luxurious interiors.
This 1988 XJ-S V12 coupe reflects all those changes. Smartly finished in Grenadier Red with a Barley leather interior, it is a very low mileage car that has clearly led a cossetted life in California. The result is a corrosion-free car with a barely worn interior.
Still wearing its California plates and supplied with the reassurance of a Carfax vehicle check, it is now ready for a new life in Europe.
