The Appeal

This example is finished in striking red, one of the best colours for a GTA, and features a largely original interior, while the vendor tells us that the car has just been serviced and is ready to go. So if you’ve always lusted after this angular slice of Gallic greatness, then this is the perfect opportunity to satiate that craving.

The History and Paperwork

• First registered in 1988
• One of only 3,810 LHD GTA Turbo models built, according to Alpine factory records
• 74,247Km on the clock
• This example was brought to Czechia from Japan in 2014
• Sadly, we do not know much about this car’s history

The Interior

• Attractive period black leather upholstery
• The seats are showing some wear and cracking to the leather, with a large split to the driver’s side back rest
• Grey carpet is fitted and looks to be in good order overall, with a set of black floor mats offering some extra protection
• Electric windows and door mirrors
• Modern Kenwood CD/radio system with Aux port
• Air conditioning
• We note that a turbo timer and boost gauge have been added to the centre console
• The controls and switchgear all look to be in pretty good shape, with some patination from use and age
• The vendor does not report any faults or issues with the cabin’s functions and features
• Under the bonnet there is a ‘frunk’ space which contains the spare wheel

The Exterior

• Plastic/polyester bodyshell, designed for aerodynamic efficiency and lightness
• No damage, cracking or warping is evident in the bodyshell or panels, as far as we can tell
• Red paintwork suits the car well, and appears to be in reasonably good order
• We did note some areas of ‘orange peel’ and swirling as well as some stone chips to the front of the car
• All of the external trim and badging appears to be present and correct, with a little fading to some of the badges
• The glass elements and large light lenses all look to be in nice condition, with no cracking or chipping in evidence
• The car is riding on a smart, polished set of two-piece, five-spoke alloy wheels that present well with some minor scuffs and blemishes

The Mechanics

• Rear-mounted 2,458cc V6 turbocharged engine
• Five-speed manual transmission
• Rear-wheel drive
• The engine bay looks nice and clean, with no obvious issue we could see
• Rated at 200hp and 285Nm when new
• Factory performance figures of 0-100Km/h in seven seconds and a top speed of 250Km/h
• Low overall weight of just 1,180Kg
• Two years ago the car underwent major repairs (exhaust, alternator, fuel system, ABS sensor replacement, etc..) Since then the car has been in working order and garaged in a depository. Only basic maintenance (engine oil and filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, air filter and brake fluid) has been done later
• The vendor tells us that the car has just been serviced and is ready to go, with no mechanical issues declared
