Top-notch handling, impressive performance and surprisingly roomy, the diminutive M100 Elan was a master stroke that stemmed from the GM era of Lotus, and was, as a direct result, the most invested-in car in Lotus's history. Around £35 million was pumped into the concept, a rare opportunity for the Hethel enterprise to make a truly defined sports car. At the time, it was particularly advanced and unusual - the front-wheel-drive layout was a bit of an eyebrow raiser, but made for a deeply dynamic drive.
This particular example stands out as number 799 of just 800 limited edition models produced in the highly desirable British Racing Green. Having remained with the current owner for an impressive 24 years, it's a fabulous example, accompanied by a long MOT and with plenty of investment in recent years.
