The Appeal
Monaco began building motor homes in 1968 under the Caribou brand. The firm built a solid reputation for high-end, robust RVs built using its acclaimed Roadmaster chassis. This Monaco Knight comes from the pre-2008 era when quality was at its best.
Finished in the firm’s ‘Tapestry’ burgundy and white colour combination, it is a fine example that has been little used judging by the 36,200 miles from new. The exterior and the high specification interior are in remarkably preserved condition. Outside there are a few marks, but nothing beyond light cosmetic issues.
Beneath the body is a 5.9L diesel engine that is about as economical as a vehicle of these type can be. We are told it runs and drives well.
The vehicle is currently UK registered and located in France. The vendor tells us that the all-important French 846A customs and VAT paperwork has been completed and paid. However, further work will be required to register this vehicle in France. Alternatively, the buyer could return it to the UK or move it elsewhere in Europe.
The vendor says:
“An imposing vehicle on the road or when parked. Once the bellows are open, it's like being in a real house. The vehicle is from 2001 and has a few minor details and imperfections in the bodywork (see photos).”
