The Appeal
It was built to celebrate 30 years of the Range Rover and is justly considered the ‘ultimate’ P38. The 200 Anniversary Edition marked the end of production and got the best of what Land Rover could offer at the time. That meant bespoke paintwork - in this case Aston Martin Wimbledon Green - plus Connolly leather trim and the ‘Thor’ 215bhp 4.6L V8.
These rarities do not come to market often, but this must be amongst the best available. It was delivered new to Japan where it spent its life until returning here in 2019. That is great news for buyers because Japan has salt-free roads and is renowned for its fastidious approach to maintenance. It also relieved this Range Rover of towing duties, meaning it enjoyed a relaxed and easy life.
The result is a highly specified and very handsome example in remarkable condition. Enthusiasts will want to check the arches, sills, panel edges and underside - you won’t be disappointed when you do. Inside the luxury cabin has withstood its 23 years remarkably well and everything works correctly.
Since arriving in the UK it has been mostly dry stored. The servicing has been kept up to date and has included new discs and pads plus air springs using correct Dunlop parts. It will be sold with a fresh 12 months MOT.
