The Appeal

The Azure was the last of a very special type of hand-built Bentley. These cars retained the illustrious 6.75l V8 but are now equipped with twin turbos to deliver an experience at once serene and supercar-quick, depending on the driver’s mood.

At over £260,000 when new, perhaps it is no surprise that just 131 buyers had pockets deep enough to purchase RHD models. This one is beautifully presented in peacock blue metallic with a matching roof and contrasting cream leather cabin accented with dark walnut veneers. Thanks to a very low mileage of just 39,109, amassed by a mere five keepers, it is a resplendent example.

The service history is equally impeccable, showing regular maintenance throughout its life. Since the vendor acquired the car in 2022 it has been regularly serviced by specialist Frank Dale. In January 2023 over £4,000 was spent on servicing and replacing the brake discs and pads. IN December 2024 a further £2,400 was invested in servicing work. Trace the MOT history back to 2010, when it was first tested, and you’ll only find a single minor advisory.

Opportunities to acquire the ultimate evocation of Bentley’s hand-built era do not come along often. And this low mileage, highly cared for car is one of the best.

The Azure definitely lives up to its evocative name. The long, sleek lines suggest the super yachts that populate the glittering seas of the South of France. Like those beautiful but high tech boats, the Azure's hand-crafted bodywork and leather and wood interior disguise the modern architecture of the contemporary Arnage saloon. The result is a handsome four-seater convertible with very modern ride and handling qualities.

The car looks particularly good in the peacock blue metallic of this car with its complementary two-tone blue and cream interior. The quality is exemplary, from the hand-tooled veneers to the high end leathers. Throughout it is in excellent order, reflecting the low mileage.

Where previous Bentley convertibles were often simply rebadged Rolls-Royces, the Azure is a proper Bentley in the spirit of Bentley Boys barrelling down the Mulsanne Straight. Beneath the bonnet is the firm’s venerable hand-built V8, equipped with a pair of big turbos to lift power to 445bhp. The result is performance best described as ‘scintillating.’

Clearly this car has not been driven that way, the condition reflecting the relaxed, sedate progress for which this car is clearly intended. It has been maintained to a high standard, which is confirmed by the run of clean MOT passes. There is one single, very minor advisory in its entire test history.

The car has full service history to December 2024. It has covered less than 200 miles since. The vendor has entrusted the car to specialist Frank Dale since acquiring it in 2022 and has invested over £7,000 in that time. Alongside servicing the work has included replacing the brake discs and pads and attending to minor suspension work. Copies of these invoices are shown in the photos.

The car comes to market with a long, advisory-free MOT to May 2026 and is said to run and drive superbly.
